A letter from the Executive Director
Dear USFFI community,
When we launched USFFI in 2025, we took on one of recycling's biggest challenges: recovering and recycling curbside flexible film at scale. In 2026, we made real progress.
Since December 2025, we have moved more than 3.5 million pounds of post-consumer film and flexible packaging from California material recovery facilities (MRFs) to reclaimers.
Last month, we signed our first offtake agreements with two plastic reclaimers and two companies operating MRFs, giving them the long-term certainty they need to invest in sorting and processing film.
We also opened our second round of RFIs to MRFs, processors and reclaimers, with applications accepted through December 18. Finally, new associate members continue to join our founding brands, bringing more converters and solutions to the table.
Progress like this takes the full value chain working together. That's the focus of our first webinar, Across the Value Chain, on Thursday, November 19, at 1 p.m. ET. Learn more and register below.
Thank you for your support this year. I look forward to seeing you there.
Warmly,
Maite Quinn-Richards

Across the Value Chain:
How USFFI is scaling flexible film recycling
Thursday, November 19, 2026 · 1:00–2:00 p.m. ET · Virtual (Zoom) · Free
Recycling flexible film takes every step of the value chain. In this one-hour webinar, a speaker from each step will explain how USFFI's model works in practice: what each segment contributes, what has been learned so far, and what it will take to scale.
The session will close with live Q&A, so bring your questions. Registration is free.
